Biography
KOHARAPAYL Ensemble began as KOHAR Trio eleven years ago, and is currently comprised of 13 artists who are distinguished in the genre of their musical performances.
KOHARAPAYL has performed in different countries, spreading Armenian music by enthusing music-loving audiences. In 2003, KOHAR Trio released its first CD entitled "Mayrigis." In 2005, its second CD was released with the title "KOHARAPAYL," the name which the group adopted thereafter.
KOHARAPAYL's young musicians have endeavored to present the Armenian national and folk music, meticulously adhering to its origin, but with modern arrangement. Their latest CD, Avant-Jazz, is unique in its new arrangements, with a balanced introduction of jazz rhythms. Its ingenious orchestration gives a new vigor to Armenian popular songs.
